Folio - Gypsy

Just a practice shoot in the studio using my dog Gypsy. It went pretty well, and she was well behaved, so it has given me a bit more confidence for the rest of my shoots.

Furniture Workshop

I had fun doing the furniture workshop, it was basically the same principle as product work, just with much larger objects. We had fun doing the fridge on the cyclorama, and it was quite challenging getting even lighting that was also interesting. We also shot a chair, which was much easier.
I did consider doing furniture for my folio, but transportation is a main challenge as I have no way of transporting the furniture to the studio and back easily.

Fashion Workshop

I was originally going to do fashion for my studio folio, but after this workshop I realized that this is not for me. The workshop ran fine, and I did learn a lot, but I don't think I have the qualities or the organization it takes to run fashion shoots.

Workshop 2 - Food

Group - Me, Amy & Anthea

I had a lot of fun doing food, and as of yet want to do it for one of my folios. I really liked working with natural light, and the overcast day actually gave very nice soft lighting for our setups. The late notice posed a bit of a problem though, as I had no time to go shopping for food, and unfortunately all I had in the house was bread (which annoyed my family when I took it) but luckily Amy came well prepared!

This is our disgusting cheese. We used jars of sundried tomatoes and olives to give an 'antipasto' kind of feel. The knife is a problem in this shot as it is a bit too aggressive.

We shot Amy's lovely chocolate tart on a white plate, with cherries in the background to add a little more interest. All of our shots are done with natural light, this one had a reflector in the back right to fill the shadows a little.

This is Anthea's asparagus. It's a nice simple detail shot which looks good with no clutter in the background.

This is my pumpkin shot. It is a lovely item to photograph, but it was really difficult, as it is such a large object and we only had a small chopping board. I had to do a close shot, as the table and background were rather unsightly.

Last but not least is our bread and chili jam.
